Description
This Burgundian studied sculpture with Georges Gardet. From 1897 to 1921, he regularly exhibited at the Salon in Paris. His bronzes, mostly of animals, are made by foundries Thiébaut brothers and the famous Barbedienne. With Georges Gardet, his master, René Paris and a few others, he was part of the second generation of the great animal sculptors of the renowned Ecole française, which perpetuated the classical naturalistic style just before the emergence of Art Deco.
