Description
Like father, like son. Archimede Seguso, the most illustrious contemporary glassmaker of Murano, was born into a large family whose father, Antonio, was already one of the ten masters of the famous Venetian glassware Vetri Artistici Fratelli Barovier, founded in 1866 by Antonio Salviati.
“Master” at 21, he founded in 1931, with his father and his brother Ernesto, the Seguso Vetri d’Arte, which in a few years became the most creative of the Murano glassworks, especially with the Novocento style.
In 1946, he flies with his own wings, giving free rein to his inspiration, developing his traditional work a massello and his personal research in the field of watermarks and of zanfirico. Techniques that require extraordinary mastery.
“Master of the Masters”, he became the supreme reference of glass art in the whole world.
